Maine’s Premier Youth Football League The Maine Youth Football League provides tackle football playing opportunities to Maine children from grades 1-6 in three programs – Pee Wee, Junior Varsity, and Varsity.
The MYFL member communities are Falmouth, Freeport, Portland, South Portland, and Yarmouth. In 2014 these communities will field Pee Wee, JV and Varsity teams comprised 1-6 grade players.
The mission of the MYFL is to instill in our players of the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority that participation in the sport of football provides, so that they may become well adjusted, stronger and happier children who grow to be decent, healthy and trustworthy citizens.

Attention Board Members and Team Representatives:
Annual Coaches and Officials Meeting
Our annual Coaches and Officials meeting is set for Wednesday July 30, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Pat's Pizza in the Old Port. The meeting will be held in the upstairs Banquet Room with full menu available and cash bar.
We would like to have at least one coach per team (youth/pee wee) to attend the meeting. The first part of the meeting will focus on issues relating to the coaches. If we have any board issues to deal with, we will do so after we dismiss the coaches.
Agenda items for Coaches/Officials - Review schedule, New Harvest Bowl format, new Weigh In rules, new Pee Wee game format, clarify any rules changes/interpretations, and who to contact in case of questions.
Agenda items for Board- Checking in with Jim about trophies, helmet stickers, dues, officials, and finances.
The league has also been informed that the Portland Titans Pee Wees will not be able to field a team this season. We will be re-scheduling their opponents to play in three team games, as to avoid bye weeks. The format will be discussed at the meeting.
Please inform your coaches about the meeting. Please let them know this meeting is not about past issues and grievances, but informing them about changes related to the 2014 season.

We are a league that takes pride in the hard work and support of our great athletes and families. The MYFL is dedicated to sportsmanship, player safety and high quality youth football.
Representing the 2014 MYFL Executive Board is a strong alliance of energetic and experienced volunteers who are working hard to make the league stronger and better for all our communities involved.
We will be focusing our efforts over the next few months to make our league the best it has ever been. Work has already started on scheduling, rule amendments, scheduling, and player safety.
The MYFL is also proud to begin a relationship with USA Football and their Heads Up Tackling Program. We believe this partnership will only add to the success of our league.
Thanks to all of you for your dedication to the Maine Youth Football League, and the advancement of youth sports in general. Your dedication and guardianship of area youth football makes a big difference in the lives of our children. Be assured that the life lessons learned on our area football fields will serve our student athletes well into the future.
